THE AFRICAMARIL PROJECT
Considered for almost 10 years, the Institut Pasteur de Dakar Foundation has launched since 2013, the project of the construction of a new production unit. This project will provide the foundation with a high-performance tool and increase its production capacity to enable it to meet global demand. The Pasteur Institute in Dakar should start a brand new manufacturing plant in the city of Diamniadio in 2019, which will produce more than 20 million doses per year and recruit around 40 people.
This project to build a new unit is part of the Emerging Senegal plan and thus benefits from strong support from the State, which has awarded the Institut Pasteur in Dakar the land where the new site will be built, as well as a subsidy of 1 billion CFA (€1.5m). To complete the financing of these few tens of millions of euros, the Institut Pasteur benefits from the support of the Islamic Development Bank and the French Development Agency.
