Establishment of the West African Regional Integrated Surveillance and Laboratories Network (RISLNET)
Institut Pasteur de Dakar participated in a workshop in Abuja to launch the implementation of a Regional Integrated Surveillance and Laboratory Network (RISLNET). RISLNET was created by Africa CDC to integrate all public health laboratories, surveillance and emergency response resources. The workshop, which runs from April 20-22, 2022, is co-organized by the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and the West African Health Organization (WAHO), bringing together representatives of the 15 member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The implementing partners of this project, ghssil and institut pasteur de Dakar (IPD), are expected to immediately roll out planned activities to support laboratories and strengthen disease surveillance and laboratory systems in ECOWAS Member States after the workshop.
